CS Expansion Joint Covers

The selection of the floor cover is often the most critical step in the specification process. The presence of rolling loads and the need for hygiene are major considerations in cover selection, while aesthetics in seismic covers is also a significant issue. C/S offers flush gasketed covers, metal covers and floor covers for stone pavers. Standard and seismic sizes up to 36" available.

Once you've selected the floor cover, identifying a matching wall cover is a relatively simple task. When it comes to seismic covers however, there are options driven by both functionality and aesthetics. Choose from covers that become detached from the wall to minimize damage or ones that are self-closing to minimize post-event maintenance. Most C/S wall covers are designed to accept a range of surface materials to maximize concealment of the cover.

C/S offers a variety of exterior wall and roof covers. For walls in most buildings vertical exterior thermoplastic seals are generally preferred. For large scale seismic walls we offer a variety of flush wall covers that offer a zero sightline. Roof covers are available in either a flexible neoprene bellows with galvanized flanges or formed aluminum covers. All wall and roof covers are offered with factory manufactured transitions.

Conventional compression seals take care of movement extremely well - especially joint expansion. The problem has always been bonding them in place within the joint to form a water tight seal. Systems were introduced that solved the bonding issue but fell short on the movement side - they also required pumping full of air at installation! The new hybrid seal system from C/S gives the best of both worlds - full compression seal movement with integral reservoirs for effective epoxy bonding.

Parking Garage and Stadium Covers

The Problem
Constant wheeled traffic in parking garages cause seals installed in elastomeric concrete to separate or break up.When failure occurs, owners or operators have to close sections or the whole garage to get them replaced.

The Solution
Zip Block™ Expansion Joint Seals feature one-piece EPDM extrusions with integral nosings. Easily installed, Zip Block is embedded in epoxy and sealed for a totally watertight finish. With Zip Block there’s no failed nosings, no garage closings and no lost revenue.

Eliminates messy, poorly performing elastomeric concrete
Mixing and applying elastomeric concrete is a messy, time consuming hassle. Zip Block™ high strength epoxy assures a clean installation. ZB seals can even be installed on concrete cured for less than a week.

Built Tough
With elastomeric systems, cracking of the nosing results from poor support at the joint edge. The ZB’s integral nosing has sufficient mass to withstand wheeled impact under these conditions. It can even stand up to snow plows.

Great for Retrofit
Zip Block™ will work in any garage because it is designed to fit the same blockout that houses the damaged seal it will replace. Remove the old seal, apply the epoxy and "walk in" the ZB seal, without shutting down your garage.
